How to Prepare for a Notary Public Appointment

Signing documents for a notary public

Notaries are known for being convenient, timely, efficient and so much more. What contributes to that is good preparation before your appointment. Did you know the top 4 ways you can ensure a quick and easy appointment? Let’s see if you were right:

  1. All signers should have a valid, unexpired ID. In California, this is usually a driver’s license, government-issued identification card, or even a passport. No photocopies or digital copies of an ID can be accepted.

  2. Your document should be printed out and completed, ready for your signature. That’s why I’m there…to watch you sign, in most cases.

  3. Know which type of notarization you need. I am unable to advise you on how to prepare, interpret, or complete any documents. If you are unsure, please consult the agency that requires the notarization to give you direction before your appointment.

  4. Know in advance if you will need witnesses. It is best practice not to use family members as a conflict of interest could easily disqualify them. Neighbors and coworkers make the best witnesses.

Checking these four things off your list will make you a notary rockstar client. I look forward to assisting you with your documents. Book now to secure your preferred time and date!
